Why we do what we do

  1. We know, that good UX design has an excellent cost/effort ratio.

  2. We see many technically great products, done with a lot of dedication, which are painful to use.

  3. We hear a lot of rumors and myths about UX and we want to take you the fear of the unknown.

    And above all:

  4. We want to make things better instead of just complaining.

A few Words about Bernhard

If you do business with us, you will mostly work with me (Bernhard). To give you an idea where I am coming from, here some data about me - however, a phonecall will give you a better impression.

I work in MedTech since 1992. After several years as frontend developer, requirements engineer and software project leader, in 2007 I had the opportunity to start building up the UX department in Roche Diagnostics. We started as a team of two and within 10 years, this organization grew to more than 40 great team members. We were mostly visual-, interaction- and industrial designers, with a growing share of user researchers. The focus of the department was developing products for the IVD market and digital services. Besides this, I was responsible for the standards for hard- and software and for the regulatory usability engineering process of Roche Diagnostics. This allowed me to learn a lot about the adjoint processes like risk management, requirements engineering, V&V and product development.

Besides working as UX designer, I was also training the UX teams in regulatory processes and application of the UX standards. I was acting as a UX ambassador across the company, geographically as well as organizationally. Since 2017 I have also been driving the topic of virtual reality for UX design, and today, Roche Diagnostics is capable of using VR effectively for workflow design, use context visualization and project communication.

Since 2012 I am also working as teacher and coach of bachelor and master students. I love this type of engagement very much and as of today, I work at the following universities:

  • Hochschule Luzern, Dept. Architektur und Technik, im Institut für Medizintechnik

  • Hochschule Luzern, Dept. Informatik, im Institut für Immersive Realities

  • Hochschule für angewandte Psychologie, FHNW Olten, CAS Usability und User Experience erfolgreich umsetzen

  • Hochschule für Technik, Rapperswil am MAS HCID

In 2021 I decided to start a new chapter in my professional life and together with my wife I founded Infinity Approach Ltd. We focus on supporting small businesses and start-ups in MedTech, which cannot afford large investments in UX design but still want to approach the topic of usability in a professional and effective way.
